17 teams of juniors and pros descended on Pyrford Lakes for a day of competition and fun. Spirits were high as the day kicked off with bacon rolls and coffee or juice, and at 10am competition begun. With a best 2-of-4 stableford format for the team, as well as an individual stableford for the pros, there was plenty to play for!
On a day of outstanding scoring, Pyrford Lakes’ own Tom Parson shot a wonderful -6 for 42 points to win the pro competition, and was superbly supported by his team of juniors for second place in the team comp. However, victory was secured by Chris Moss, Mia, Laura and Laura with an incredibly score of 99 points (-27!).
A huge congratulations to our winners, and the festivities continued after the golf concluded with a fantastic barbeque, as well as chipping competitions into the lake and a long putt challenge. Pyrford looks forward to the 2023 Pro-Am with anticipation!
Get Golfing CIO is a charity, whose aim is to encourage greater participation in the game of golf to deliver a positive impact on the physical and mental health of those who play as well as to help reverse the recent trend of golf course closures. To achieve this, the management of Get Golfing CIO understands that they have to deliver the best possible course conditions to attract players to its clubs.
Get Golfing can invest in a club in a way that was not previously possible while at the same time providing a more affordable golf environment. To date, Get Golfing has grown to nine sites and does not have any loans or debts. Growth comes through reinvestment from existing trading activities. While it is a specialist golf operator, Get Golfing recognises the importance of a club’s bar, catering and functions operations. The management of Get Golfing, therefore, is focused on two disciplines: golf and food and beverages.
